Russian President Vladimir Putin in a telephone conversation with Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon discussed the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, the situation in Belarus and prospects for settlement in Afghanistan, the Kremlin's press service said.
"Topical issues of further strengthening friendly bilateral relations were touched upon. Besides, the parties discussed the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, development of the situation in Belarus and prospects for settlement in Afghanistan," the Kremlin press service reported.
It is noted that Putin also congratulated Rakhmon on his birthday. Earlier, the Russian leader sent a congratulatory telegram to the president of Tajikistan who turned 68 on October 5.
