Putin discussed with Aliyev the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev have discussed the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh in a telephone conversation, separately touching on the restoration of economic ties and communications in the South Caucasus. This was reported on Wednesday by the Kremlin press service.

 

"The parties considered practical aspects of the implementation of the agreements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia on Nagorno-Karabakh of November 9, 2020, and January 11 this year, " the message reads.


It is noted that the leaders paid special attention to the intensification of work in the trilateral format on the restoration of economic ties and transport communications in the South Caucasus.


The Kremlin said that during the discussion of current issues on the bilateral agenda, Putin and Aliyev confirmed the mutual desire to further strengthen the Russian-Azerbaijani strategic partnership.


The leaders also agreed to continue contacts at various levels. The conversation took place at the initiative of the Azerbaijani side.
