Putin expressed his condolences on the death of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a telegram of condolences to the family of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, calling his death an irreparable loss.

 

"The hand of a criminal cut short the life of a prominent statesman who headed the Japanese government for a long time and who did much to develop good neighborly relations between our countries," the text of a telegram from the Russian president to the mother and wife of former Prime Minister Yeko Abe and Akie Abe reads.

 

"We maintained regular contacts with Shinzo, in which his excellent personal and professional qualities were fully displayed. The blessed memory of this remarkable man will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him. I wish you and your families fortitude and courage in the face of this difficult, irreparable loss," Putin added.
