Presidents of Russia and the United Arab Emirates Vladimir Putin and Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in a telephone conversation discussed the decision of some Western countries to introduce non-market restrictions on Russian oil prices. The Kremlin press service reported on Wednesday.

"The effectiveness of joint work within the framework of OPEC+ to ensure the stability of the world oil market was noted. The consistent implementation by all member states of the agreed decisions was noted with satisfaction. In this context, the parties touched upon the situation around the attempts of a number of Western countries to introduce non-market restrictions on the price of Russian oil raw materials, which contradict the principles of world trade," the statement reads.

The leaders also discussed issues of bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the countries.

"They discussed topical issues of further development of Russia-UAE cooperation in view of the agreements reached during the October 11 summit meeting in St. Petersburg. They also focused on the promotion of trade and economic cooperation, including in the transport, logistics and energy spheres," the report said.

"Russia-UAE contacts at various levels will continue," the Kremlin stressed.

Also in addition to the earlier telegram, Putin once again congratulated the UAE president and the Emirati people on UAE National Day, the statement said.

In the telegram, the Russian leader also expressed confidence that joint efforts will ensure further strengthening of the strategic partnership between Russia and the UAE for the benefit of the friendly peoples of the two countries, in the interests of stability and security in the Middle East and North Africa region.
