Putin intends to hold talks with Erdogan on February 6

Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a telephone conversation with Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday, February 6, to discuss providing aid to the republic, which suffered from a massive earthquake. This was reported by the Kremlin press service following Putin's phone conversation with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

 

 

"Through appropriate channels, the Russian side also informed the leadership of Turkey, which was significantly affected by this large-scale earthquake, of its readiness to provide assistance immediately. Vladimir Putin will speak with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Republic of Turkey on this matter today," the president's press service said in a statement.


A powerful  7.7 magnitude earthquake hit Kahramanmaras province in southeastern Turkey on Monday, killing more than 1,000 people in the country. In neighboring Syria, devastating quakes rocked the provinces in the north and northwest, killing more than 400 people. The number of injured is in the disaster counts the thousands of people. Recently, a new earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 struck Turkey.
