Russian President Vladimir Putin invited Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders Ilham Aliyev and Nikol Pashinyan to Russia at a meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State on Friday.

He recalled that he had repeatedly met in a trilateral format with Aliyev and Pashinyan, and they had previously discussed the feasibility of new talks.

"I am pleased to invite the president of Azerbaijan and the prime minister of Armenia <...>, we need to agree on the date and <...> meet in Russia in any place at any time, in Sochi, in St. Petersburg, in Moscow," the Russian president said.

He emphasized that "Russia has always sincerely tried to resolve any conflicts, including the issues related to Karabakh and around it."

Putin added that he did not want to go into details of the situation. "I think my colleagues have already said quite a lot on this matter, we will discuss it in a narrower format," he said. "I hope we will move forward as we have been able to do so far in solving the problematic issues that arise in this direction," he concluded.
