Putin invited Japarov to visit Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin during a telephone conversation with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, supported the agreement between Bishkek and Dushanbe to normalize the situation on the border and confirmed Moscow's willingness to assist in further stabilization of the situation. The Kremlin press service reported this on Monday.


"Taking into account the talks with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon in Moscow the other day, Vladimir Putin expressed support for the agreements reached between Bishkek and Dushanbe to settle the situation in the Kyrgyz-Tajik border area by political and diplomatic means. The readiness of the Russian side to assist in further stabilization of the situation has been confirmed," reads the report.


Vladimir Putin also invited Sadyr Japarov to pay a working visit to Russia. The invitation was accepted, the press service reported.


According to the Kremlin, the heads of state "exchanged warm congratulations on the 76th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and stressed the special importance of this date for the peoples of the two countries and the importance of preserving the memory of the feat of frontline soldiers and home front workers".


It was reported earlier that Tajik President Emomali Rahmon visited Moscow last week and held talks with Putin. The leaders discussed the situation in the region and issues of bilateral relations.
