Putin named Russia a key trade and economic partner of Kyrgyzstan

Russia remains a key trade and economic partner for Kyrgyzstan, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with President of the Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov.


"I am glad to welcome you. We agreed last year that we would hold the cross-years of Kyrgyzstan in Russia and Russia in Kyrgyzstan. Today we will have the opportunity to open this event, within which more than 200 events of various kinds are planned. I am sure that they will be interesting and will benefit the development of our relations," the Russian President said.


According to Putin, relations between Russia and Kyrgyzstan are developing steadily in almost all areas.


Today the President of Kyrgyzstan is in Moscow on an official visit. Among the main topics of discussion are the current state and prospects for further development of Russian-Kyrgyz cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields, as well as the exchange of views on topical issues of interaction within the framework of integration associations in the Eurasian space.


In addition, the presidents of the two countries will take part in the opening ceremony of the cross-years of Russia and Kyrgyzstan.
