Putin: Parties Involved in Middle East Settlement Seek to Avoid Confrontation

08 November

All parties involved in the Middle East settlement process are eager to avoid further confrontation and are instead focused on reaching agreements, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated during the plenary session of the Valdai Discussion Club.

“I have the impression that, at present, almost all parties involved in this challenging process are no longer interested in escalating the situation towards confrontation. On the contrary, they are thinking about how to reach some kind of agreement,” Putin said.

“We are working on this as well. It may seem strange, given that we are currently in conflict with Ukraine, but since many parties to the conflict are approaching us with ideas and proposals, and we maintain natural contacts with everyone, we are also trying to make our own modest and careful contribution to resolving these issues,” he added.
