Putin: Russia and Indonesia will continue to develop cooperation

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has sent a congratulatory telegram to his Indonesian counterpart, Joko Widodo, who has won the presidential election.

 

 


According to the Moscow Kremlin website, “the Head of the Russian state mentioned that in Russia Widodo was known as a principled Supporter of the development of friendly relations between the two countries, and expressed confidence that his activities as the Head of the state would continue to promote Russian-Indonesian cooperation in various fields, partnership in solving urgent problems of the Asia-Pacific region”.

 

 


In addition, Vladimir Putin has reaffirmed his readiness to continue “constructive dialogue and teamwork for the benefit of the peoples of Russia and Indonesia”.

 

 


It is known that, as reported by the CEC of Indonesia, according to the results of the general elections held on April 17th, the Incumbent President has got 55.5% of the vote, and his only rival Prabowo Subianto - 44.5%.
