Russia and Iran actively cooperate on the international stage, often holding similar views on global events, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated.
“We are working closely together on the international arena, and our assessments of global developments are often very close,” Putin remarked during his first meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
According to Yuri Ushakov, aide to the Russian president, the leaders will discuss bilateral relations and the sharply escalating situation in the Middle East.
Representing the Russian side in the talks are Yuri Ushakov, Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, and Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.
