Russia Day should be celebrated as a symbol of the unwavering continuity and succession of the Russian statehood, stated President Vladimir Putin during the ceremony honoring Heroes of Labor and State Prize laureates for 2023.
"This is a holiday in honor of our Motherland," - President Putin described Russia Day. - "We celebrate it with respect for our country, with reverence for its centuries-old history, the legacies of our ancestors, their achievements, and victories."
"The glory and sovereign power of Ancient Rus' developed and strengthened through the great eras of the Moscow Tsardom, the Russian Empire, and the Soviet Union," Putin noted. "All these stages are an inseparable part of modern Russia. Therefore, I consider it necessary and historically accurate to celebrate Russia Day as a symbol of the continuous thousand-year journey of our homeland," added the President.
"Russian statehood has endured many challenging, even tragic periods," - Putin remarked. - "But our people have always overcome all difficulties, obstacles, and hardships, creating and enhancing the greatness of our Motherland."
