Putin: Russia Eager to Facilitate Peace Agreement Between Baku and Yerevan

19 August

Russia would be pleased to contribute to the signing of a peace agreement and the demarcation of the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated during the start of his talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in a narrow-format meeting.

"If we can do something to help achieve the signing of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, to advance the delimitation and demarcation of the border, as we have discussed many times, and to unblock the relevant areas of logistics and the economy, we would be very happy," Putin emphasized.

Putin acknowledged Azerbaijan's commitment to finalizing all necessary procedures and its determination to reach a comprehensive settlement. "This is well known to me. We will discuss it further," the Russian leader added.
