In Russia, the spread of the new coronavirus continues, but due to operational measures, it was contained, President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting on the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the Russian Federation today.
"Due to preventive measures, we still managed to slow down and contain this process, but unfortunately, the infection, even if we are talking about isolated cases, has already been recorded in all 85 regions of the Federation," the head of state noted in particular.
Vladimir Putin warned that the peak incidence of coronavirus in Russia is still ahead. The main task now is to smooth out the increase in morbidity.
"We need to do everything to smooth out this peak, shorten the period of passage through the so-called plateau when the largest number of new infections is recorded," the President stressed.
The whole country is working in this direction now.
"Including by the end of this week and the beginning of next week, an additional fund of specialized medical beds will be fully deployed in all regions," Putin said.
In Russia, according to the latest data, 47,121 cases of coronavirus infection were registered, 3,446 people recovered, and 405 died.
