Moscow is negotiating with the Taliban to evacuate third-country citizens from Afghanistan, Russian president Vladimir Putin said.
"Many people are asking us to help to take third-country citizens, and even some Afghans, out of the territory of Afghanistan. We are doing this - not clandestinely, we also negotiate with the leaders of the Taliban (radical movement banned in Russia) on certain categories of citizens and we do it," the Russian head of state said at a press conference following talks with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko.
