Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a telegram to US President Donald Trump, in which he wished him and his wife a speedy recovery and expressed his sincere support.

“I am sure that your inherent vitality, vigour and optimism will help you overcome the dangerous virus,” the President of Russia wrote.

Earlier Friday, the US president reported that he and his wife Melania tested positive with the coronavirus. According to the 74-year-old American leader, they go to quarantine together. Before that, Trump informed that his adviser Hope Hicks had contracted the coronavirus. Trump's physician Sean Conley later said that the president and his wife were feeling well. The doctor expressed hope that Trump would continue to perform his duties "while he is recovering."

The US president canceled all face-to-face events scheduled for Friday, according to an edited White House schedule. White House deputy spokesman Judd Deer said Trump is not temporarily handing over any of his powers to Vice President Michael Penns.
