Russian President Vladimir Putin has stressed that Russian servicemen in the zone of a special military operation are acting bravely and steadfastly. The head of state gave this assessment on Wednesday at an expanded meeting of the defense ministry's board.
"I would like to thank once again all those who are performing their duty today at the combat post. I thank the tank crewmen, paratroopers, artillerymen, motorized riflemen, sappers, signalers, pilots, special forces and air defense soldiers, sailors, military topographers, specialists of logistics units, personnel of the Federal guard service and other formations for the way you fight, - I do not hesitate to make these comparisons, these are not just high-sounding words - fighting exactly as heroes of the War of 1812, the First World War or the Great Patriotic War," Putin said.
"They all perform their military duty with dignity, they risk their lives, they do not spare their strength, and if necessary, they cover their brothers-in-arms," said the president.
He addressed a special word of gratitude to the military medical staff, which rescues the soldiers bravely, risking their lives. He also thanked the military and civilian builders for building the fortifications and the vital infrastructure, and for helping to rebuild the civilian objects in the liberated areas.
