Some terrorist groups will try to escalate the conflict in Afghanistan to the territory of neighboring countries, and this is already a direct threat to Russia's security, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the second stage of the United Russia party congress.
"There is a danger that terrorists of various kinds of groups, who have found shelter in Afghanistan, will use the chaos that our Western colleagues left behind in this country and will try to start a direct escalation in neighboring states, and this is a direct threat to our country and our allies. The possible growth of drug trafficking and the aggravation of the problem of illegal migration are threats to us, too," Putin said.
