Putin: special military operation will ensure the long-term security of Donbass, Crimea, and all of Russia

All tasks of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine will be unconditionally fulfilled, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday at a meeting with members of the Council of Legislators.

"All tasks of the special military operation we are conducting in Donbass and Ukraine, which began on February 24, will certainly be fulfilled in order to guarantee peace and security for the residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics, Russian Crimea and our entire country in the historical perspective," the head of state said.

According to him, "it must be clearly understood that our soldiers and officers have prevented the real danger that already hangs over our homeland." "With their courage, determination and heroism, they prevented a large-scale conflict that would have unfolded on our territory, but according to alien scenarios," the president added.

Putin noted that "the forces that have historically pursued and are pursuing a course to contain Russia do not need such an independent, large, even huge country, according to their perception." "They believe that it poses for them simply by the fact of its existence a danger. Although this is far from being the case, they themselves pose a danger to the entire world," the head of state expressed confidence.

The president recalled "the barbaric plans of the Nazis with regard to the Soviet people - whoever is able to work, to make him work, subjecting him to slave labor and slave conditions, and whoever is not needed - to send beyond the Urals, to the north, to extinction." He stressed that all this was spelled out in official documents, and Russia remembers it.
