Putin to meet Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov

Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a meeting in Moscow on Thursday with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairperson of Turkmenistan's Upper House of Parliament and the country's former president, and award him the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" IV degree, Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters.


"Putin and Berdimuhamedov will hold talks today. The president is scheduled to award Berdimuhamedov the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland", IV degree. And then they will continue their conversation in the format of a working breakfast," said the Kremlin spokesperson, clarifying that Putin is working in the Kremlin on November 3.


Peskov noted that this is an important meeting "both in terms of bringing the further development of relations between Russia and Turkmenistan to a new level and discussing all current issues." "Especially since Berdimuhamedov and Putin met many times when he was president and established very constructive, even warm relations," the spokesperson for the Russian head of state reminded.
