Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with Kazakhstan's first president, Nursultan Nazarbayev, on Wednesday, June 30. This was reported on Tuesday by the Kremlin press service.
"On June 30, 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet in Moscow with Kazakhstan's first president Nursultan Nazarbayev, who will be on a working visit to Russia," the statement said.
The Kremlin pointed out that during the meeting it is planned to discuss the further development of relations of strategic partnership and alliance between Russia and Kazakhstan, the promotion of integration processes in the Eurasian space, as well as some topical international issues.
On Monday, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko in the Kazakh capital Nur-Sultan. During the meeting, he noted the influence of President Putin's political course on strengthening Russia's position in the world, and the role of legislative contacts in bringing Kazakhstan and Russia closer.
During the meeting, Tokayev and Matvienko discussed the prospects of strengthening the multifaceted Kazakh-Russian strategic partnership and alliance. The interlocutors touched upon topical issues of trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, Eurasian integration, as well as joint efforts of the two countries to counteract the pandemic. In addition, Matvienko conveyed to Tokayev a sincere greeting and best wishes from Putin.
