Putin to meet with Aliyev in Moscow

Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold talks with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev in Moscow on Tuesday, July 20. According to the Kremlin press service, the meeting is planned to discuss, among other things, the implementation of agreements on Nagorno-Karabakh.


"On July 20, 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold talks in Moscow. Putin and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who will be in Russia on a working visit, will hold talks in Moscow on July 2021," the Kremlin said in a statement.


It is noted that the leaders will also exchange views on topical regional problems. "The main attention will be paid to the practical aspects of the implementation of the agreements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia on Nagorno-Karabakh from November 9, 2020, and January 11, 2021, including the solution of tasks to unblock and develop economic and transport relations," the Kremlin pointed out.


The presidents are also expected to address key issues of further strengthening the Russian-Azerbaijani strategic partnership with a focus on trade, investment and humanitarian cooperation.
