Putin to meet with Erdogan on August 5

Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold talks on Friday with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is visiting Sochi, Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the Russian leader, told reporters on Tuesday.

 

"Indeed, there will be a working visit by Turkish President Erdogan on Friday. The two presidents will hold talks in Sochi," he said.

 

According to the Kremlin spokesman, the meeting will consider  bilateral topics, including those related to the economy. Also, regional issues,  including the situation in Syria and the situation in Ukraine, will be on the agenda.

 

"[There is] a good opportunity to check the effectiveness of the mechanism for the export of grain from Ukrainian ports, to see how effectively it works. And also to exchange opinions on world affairs. We see that the agenda is very intense," the press secretary of the Russian leader explained.

 

Besides, he added, Putin has "a lot of talks, a lot of working meetings, which are not within view, but nevertheless take place in the course of the day, planned in Sochi."
