Russian President Vladimir Putin in a telephone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev discussed, among other topics, the situation in Ukraine and negotiations on security guarantees for Russia with the United States and NATO, the press service of the Kremlin reported.
"In view of Ilham Aliyev's recent visit to Ukraine, they discussed the problems of the internal Ukrainian settlement, which is stuck because of Kiev's destructive line. Vladimir Putin spoke about his contacts with the US and its allies on the provision of guarantees ensuring Russia's security," the report said.
It is noted that the conversation took place at the initiative of the Azerbaijani side.
