It is necessary to create a new international organization for security and cooperation in the Persian Gulf region with the participation of Russia, China, as well as the United States and the European Union, Russian President Vladimir Putin said speaking at the plenary session of the Valdai international discussion club.
He reminded that Russia presented the concept of providing collective security in the Persian Gulf area that in July this year, the idea of which is still important "considering the tense and unpredictable situation there".
"We suggest that the accumulated prejudices and mutual pretenses must be pushed aside, and a security and cooperation organization be created in the region almost from scratch. In addition to Western countries, Russia, China, the US, the EU, India and other interested countries could join as observers", - noted the Russian President.
