Putin warned Kiev of a harsh response if attacks continue

10 October 2022

Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned Kiev that if the Ukrainian authorities try to continue terrorist attacks on Russian territory, the response will be harsh.

"If attempts to carry out terrorist attacks on our territory continue, Russia's responses will be harsh and will match in scale the level of threats posed by the Russian Federation," the head of state said Monday at an operational meeting with members of the Russian Security Council.

"No one should have any doubts about this," Putin stressed.

He pointed out that the Kiev regime has actually put itself on a par with international terrorist formations through its actions, so it is simply no longer possible to leave crimes of this kind unanswered.

The president said that "this morning, on the proposal of the ministry of defense and according to the plan of the Russian General Staff, a massive strike with long-range precision-guided air, sea and land-based weapons was launched against Ukrainian energy, military administration and communication facilities."

The president instructed Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to "report on the results."
