Putin will not address the G20 and APEC summits

Russian President Vladimir Putin will not address the G20 summit, including online. A video address to the APEC forum is also not planned, presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters Friday.

"No, there are no plans," he said in response to a question about whether a video address or an online speech by the Russian leader is planned for the G20 summit.

The Kremlin spokesperson also responded in the negative to a question about whether there would be a video address by the president to the APEC summit participants. "No, it is not planned," Peskov explained.

Putin personally decided that his trip to the G20 summit, which will be held on the Indonesian island of Bali, will not take place. This is due to the Russian leader's schedule and the need for him to be in the country, Peskov said.

"It was the decision of the head of state specifically. It is connected with his schedule. Connected to the need for him to be in the Russian Federation," the Kremlin spokesperson said.
