Putin wished Tokayev success in implementing tasks set out in his address to nation

Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed in a telephone conversation with his Kazakhstan counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev the message of the leader of the republic to the people and wished him good luck in implementing the tasks voiced.


Questions related to today's speech by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev with an address to the people of Kazakhstan were touched upon. The Kremlin press service said Thursday following the results of the conversation that Vladimir Putin wished him every success in implementing the large-scale tasks stated in his message.
 



They added that the presidents expressed "a mutual desire for further development and deepening of Russia-Kazakhstan relations, taking into account the agreements reached at the recent bilateral meeting in Sochi."


Earlier, in his address to the people of Kazakhstan, Tokayev announced political reforms and also announced the holding of early presidential elections this autumn and early elections to the Majilis (lower house of parliament) in the first half of 2023.


Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who was asked how the Kremlin sees the future of relations with Kazakhstan in the wake of this message from Tokayev, said Moscow would like to see Kazakhstan as "a prosperous, self-confident, solidly established and stable country."
