Qatar continues to focus on mediating efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine and has not been involved in its militarization, according to a statement by Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Majid bin Mohammed al-Ansari.
During a briefing, al-Ansari emphasized that Qatar has been clear from the outset that it is committed to a peaceful resolution of the conflict. Responding to claims that Doha had agreed to supply howitzers to Ukraine as part of a weapons deal with Berlin, he reiterated, “We have made it clear from day one that we are interested in a peaceful settlement of this conflict.” He further clarified that Qatar is currently engaged in mediation efforts between both sides and is not participating in the militarization of the conflict in any way.
