Qatar is ready for further international cooperation on the issue of inter-Afghan dialogue, including with Russia. Mutlaq al-Qahtani, Qatar's Foreign Ministry Special Envoy for Combating Terrorism and Conflict Mediation, said this on the sidelines of an expanded "troika" meeting on the Afghanistan settlement on Thursday.
"We are happy to be in Moscow. We want to continue our cooperation with the other players, including Russia," he said.
The meeting of the expanded troika (Russia, the United States, China and Pakistan) on a peace settlement in Afghanistan at the level of special envoys was held Thursday in Moscow. The meeting is attended by representatives of the Afghan authorities and the Taliban (banned in Russia), as well as representatives of Qatar and Turkey.
