President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon called on fellow citizens to be ready to defend national interests and political stability in the conditions of superpower conflict. This was stated in his congratulatory message issued on Thursday on the occasion of the religious holiday of Eid al-Fitr.
"As a result of confrontations and conflicts between superpowers, sanctions and financial and economic crises, the situation in the region and in the world has recently become extremely complicated, and the peace and tranquillity and even the political independence of states have become vulnerable and are under threat," Rahmon said. - "Under such conditions, we must be united, vigilant and ready to defend national and state interests, peace and tranquility, political stability and national unity even more than before."
The leader of Tajikistan also stressed that in the current economic conditions it is extremely necessary to take the issue of economy and frugality seriously, preventing ostentation and wastefulness in, including during the holidays.
Eid al-Fitr is the holiday of breaking the fast during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. It will be celebrated on April 21.
