Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
Rustam Minnikhanov is on a working visit to the Republic of Tajikistan. The day before he took part in the Ninth conference on inter-regional cooperation "Business and investment partnership between Russia and Tajikistan" as a member of the Russian delegation, which was headed by Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.
Emomali Rahmon warmly greeted Rustam Minnikhanov. The president of Tajikistan noted the intention to develop contacts in trade, economic and humanitarian relations.
According to the results of 2022, there was a 57% growth in trade turnover between Tatarstan and Tajikistan, it amounted to 30.7 million dollars.
"The exchange of visits gives a good impetus to increase cooperation in all directions. A number of enterprises of Tatarstan already supply their products to Tajikistan. I believe it is necessary to intensify interaction in the trade and economic sphere," Rustam Minnikhanov said.
In addition, during the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov specifically mentioned the work of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia-Islamic world", which he heads on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The group includes political figures and representatives of the business community, science and clergy, who have authority and influence in their countries.
"We are grateful for your country's contribution to the work of the Group," Rustam Minnikhanov said.
Taking the opportunity, Rustam Minnikhanov invited the delegation of Tajikistan to the International Economic Forum "Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum" to be held in Kazan on May 18-19, 2023.
