Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi expressed his hope for the enhancement of cooperation between his nation and Turkmenistan across various sectors. He said this in a congratulatory message addressed to Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in celebration of Turkmenistan's Independence Day.
"I hope that through our collaborative endeavors, the relations between our countries will continue to grow, serving our mutual interests and contributing to the reinforcement of peace and security regionally and globally. I extend my heartfelt wishes for your good health and success, and I wish happiness and prosperity to the esteemed people of Turkmenistan," Raisi conveyed in his message. The official newspaper Neytralny Turkmenistan quoted the text of the congratulatory message.
He highlighted that Iran and Turkmenistan share a commitment to maintaining friendly relations founded on mutual respect. "Our historical and cultural ties, shared interests, and the frequent exchanges of high-level delegations have been instrumental in expanding and enhancing our bilateral cooperation," the Iranian president further emphasized.
Turkmenistan marks the 32nd anniversary of its independence on September 27. The nation attained sovereignty in 1991 when the Supreme Soviet of the Turkmen SSR enacted the constitutional law "On Independence and Foundations of the State Structure of Turkmenistan" following a national referendum.
