Cooperation between Moscow and Tehran on Syria can become a model for the development of bilateral relations in other areas, Iran is grateful to Russia for this interaction, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said on Thursday, speaking at a plenary session in the State Duma.
"Our successful model of cooperation between Iran and Russia in Syria, of course, was made possible by the resistance of the people and government of Syria [to terrorism]. And this guarantees the independence of the states and leads to lasting peace and security in the region. In the same context, I would like to thank the Russian Federation for its cooperation under the wise leadership of Russian President Mr. [Vladimir] Putin. This can be an effective model for the development of our relations in different directions," he said.
