"The Kazan summit led by Mintimer Shaimiev and Rustam Minnikhanov has become one of the most effective platforms in the Islamic world today. It is difficult to think of another platform that would fundamentally deal with the Islamic world and Russia's cooperation with Muslim countries. And it's not only about the economy, but also about culture and art," was stated by Ramazan Abdulatipov, Russia's Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, at the 5th OIC Young Diplomats Forum, which is being held these days in Kazan within the framework of the KazanSummit International Economic Forum.
He also noted the high level of work of the Group of Strategic Vision, which today is headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. "We carry out many joint activities. So, despite the restrictions related to the pandemic, over the past year, together with the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia - Islamic world" we held about 10 international conferences and summits on various issues," reminded the speaker.
In his speech Ramazan Abdulatipov also drew attention of the forum participants to the necessity of strengthening inter-ethnic and inter-religious cooperation. Young diplomats play a special role in this direction as they provide the basis for future cooperation between Russia and the countries of the Muslim world.
July 28-30, Kazan hosts the main platform for economic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Islamic world. This year KazanSummit is held in a mixed format (online and offline) at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center.
The main topics of the forum are Islamic finance and partner banking, halal industry, youth diplomacy, export development, entrepreneurship and investment.
