Ramzan Kadyrov condemned the "deal of the century" on the Palestinian-Israeli settlement

03 March 2020

The American plan for a Palestinian-Israeli settlement, known as the "deal of the century", is a crime against the entire Muslim world,
The head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov wrote this on his page in the VKontakte.

He said that he met with the adviser to the President of Palestine, Mahmoud al-Habash, who came to Chechnya as a head of the official delegation. The parties discussed cooperation between Chechnya and Palestine and, in particular, agreed to sign an agreement on the establishment of religious tourism for Chechen pilgrims to regularly visit shrines in Palestine.

Also during the meeting, according to Kadyrov, he condemned the so-called "deal of the century", which "grossly violates the norms of international law and is a crime against the entire Muslim world".

US President Donald Trump announced the details of the "deal of the century" on January 28. According to the document, Jerusalem is recognized as the capital of Israel, and Palestine becomes an independent but demilitarized state, effectively deprived of control over its borders. As the future capital of Palestine, the plan proposes the village of Abu Dis in the Eastern suburbs of Jerusalem, located behind a security fence. Palestine categorically rejected the US plan. Statements about the document's unacceptability were made by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Arab League and the European Union.
