Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, Chairman of the Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation met the imam of the Haram Mosque Sheikh Mahir Al-Muayqli.
The parties discussed possible ways to increase cooperation between the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques and the Russian Muftis Council, in particular, in terms of intensifying mutual visits, which, among other things, would allow them to effectively counter the spread of radical and extremist ideas.
They also emphasized that strengthening religious ties is an important part of bilateral relations between Russia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
