The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Malaysian pharmaceutical company Duopharma Sdn Bhd signed an agreement on Tuesday on the terms of supplying Malaysia with the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine, the Russian embassy in Kuala Lumpur told TASS correspondent.
"This agreement is only the first step toward establishing a comprehensive bilateral cooperation, which includes not only supplies of the Russian vaccine, but also the creation in Malaysia of its own research base for its production," Russian Ambassador Nail Latypov commented on the results of the signing.
The signing ceremony was held in a format of a teleconference with the Minister of Health of Malaysia Adham Baba.
As clarified by the RDIF, the Sputnik V vaccine will be produced at sites in India, China and South Korea for supply to Malaysia.
