Militants in Syria are planning to launch a drone attack to blame the Syrian army and Russian Air Force for airstrikes on settlements in the Idlib de-escalation zone, Rear Admiral Alexander Grinkevich, the deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria told reporters on Monday.
According to him, "the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties received new information about the plans of terrorist groups to accuse the Syrian government forces and the Air Force of Russia in the infliction of artillery and airstrikes on settlements located in the territory controlled by illegal armed groups in Idlib zone of de-escalation.
"According to available information, the militants plan to use an unmanned aerial vehicle to strike civilian infrastructure in the area of the Nahleh settlement. The militants intend to post a video of the consequences of the staged strike on their propaganda resources on the Internet with accusations against Syrian government forces and the Russian Air Force," Grinkevich said.
He stressed that the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties calls on commanders of illegal armed groups to abandon armed provocations and take the path of peaceful settlement of the situation in the areas under their control.
However, according to Grinkevich, in Idlib's de-escalation zone there were 31 shots fired per day by the terrorist group Jabhat al-Nusra (banned in Russia), of which 11 were fired in Idlib province, 6 in Aleppo province, 10 in Latakia province and 4 in Hama province.
