The next meeting of Secretaries of Security Councils of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states will be held in Kazakhstan. This was reported on Wednesday by the press service of the president of Kazakhstan following the participation of Assistant to the President - Secretary of the Security Council of Kazakhstan Gizat Nurdauletov in the 18th Meeting of Secretaries of Security Councils of the SCO member states in New-Delhi.
"Following the meeting, it was decided to hold the next meeting of secretaries of security councils of the SCO member states in Kazakhstan," the statement said.
The meeting participants discussed a wide range of issues related to the situation in the field of security and stability in the SCO space. It was noted that Nurdauletov informed his colleagues of Kazakhstan's position on the most important areas of SCO activities, and made several proposals for further development of interaction on key aspects of security taking into account the interests of the republic.
"The sides exchanged views on topical issues on the international and regional agenda, including the development of cooperation in such areas as combating cybercrime, countering terrorism and extremism, illicit arms and drug trafficking, transnational organized crime, stabilizing the situation in Afghanistan, ensuring international information security," the press service explained.
