Religious Board of Muslims canceled public events

The Religious Board of Muslims in Russia cancels public events, and the Moscow Islamic Institute start working online, the rector of the MII Damir Mukhetdinov told RIA Novosti.


According to him, the heads of structural divisions of the Religious Board, as well as the heads of 55 representative offices of the organization in the regions have to review their work schedules and cancel or postpone all public events.


Earlier, the Religious Board recommended the country's Muslims avoiding handshakes and greeting kisses, as well as postponing pilgrimage abroad.


In the world, more than 164 thousand people in more than 150 countries have been infected with the coronavirus, and more than 6.4 thousand  died.
