Mufti Ravil Gainutdin, Chairman of Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of Russia, met with Russian Deputy Defense Minister, Lieutenant-General Yunus-Bek Yevkurov.
The main attention during the conversation was paid to the patriotic and moral education of personnel serving in various types and branches of the armed forces, including the education of Muslim soldiers.
"The practice of meetings of Muslim clergy with military personnel on a voluntary and conscious basis, conversations about patriotic feelings and the protection of the Fatherland in the system of Islamic values has proved positive over the years and is an important part of the state-confessional dialogue. The parties noted the importance of strengthening this kind of cooperation between the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation," the Religious Board of Muslims reports.
