Religious organizations of Russia and Uzbekistan to expand cooperation

Religious organizations of Uzbekistan and Russia intend to expand the spheres of cooperation in the near future, in particular, in the field of religious education, Consul General of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia Mehriddin Hayriddinov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.


"Education, including religious education, remains an important factor in the development of a society. And the development of interstate relations on the example of the interaction of Islamic structures of our countries is the task of today. We have all possibilities for this," the agency quoted the diplomat as saying.


Hayriddinov reminded that nowadays about 30 thousand students from Uzbekistan study in Russia.


"We also have many educational institutions where the Russian language is taught," the Consul added.
