Reports: Israeli Army Blocks Removal of 150,000 Tons of Trash from Gaza

15 August

According to the Tasnim news agency, municipal authorities in Gaza are unable to remove approximately 150,000 tons of accumulated trash due to restrictions imposed by the Israeli army.

Since the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in October 2023, Gaza's streets have been overflowing with waste. City officials attribute the inability to manage and dispose of the trash to actions by the Israeli occupying forces. Representatives from the municipality, as reported by Tasnim, stress that the severe trash problem is adversely affecting residents' health and contributing to the spread of diseases.
