The rescuers EMERCOM of Russia under the rubble in the port of Beirut has pulled out the bodies of three dead from the blast, the press service of the Ministry reported TASS.
"On August 7, 2020, the search and rescue services of the EMERCOM of Russia at the site of debris analysis in Beirut found and recovered the bodies of three victims from the explosion that occurred on August 4 in the port," the press service said.
A powerful explosion at a warehouse in the port occurred on August 4. The blast wave destroyed and damaged dozens of homes, and more than 300 thousand people were left homeless. At least 149 people were killed, about 5 thousand were injured, and dozens are missing. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Lebanon, the cause of the tragedy was a fire that occurred during welding operations over 2.7 thousand tons of ammonium nitrate, confiscated by the customs services six years ago.
