King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud has sent to the Head of the Transitional Military Council of Sudan Abdel Fattah Abdelrahman Burhan an invitation to participate in the upcoming Islamic Summit to be held in late May.

The TV channel Al Mayadeen has reported about this with reference to a special statement of the Military Council of Sudan.

In a statement, it is noted that "the official invitation to Abdelrahman Burhan was transferred by the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Khartoum".

It is known that the meeting of Heads of state and government of Islamic countries will be held for the 14th time in Mecca. The summit traditionally discusses issues of "strengthening solidarity between Islamic states and the problems of the Islamic nation".
