Rospotrebnadzor to study mutations of a strain of coronavirus circulating in Uzbekistan

Rospotrebnadzor specialists together with the Uzbek side will study the mutated strain of coronavirus that circulates in the country. This was reported on the Rospotrebnadzor website on Wednesday.

 

"An agreement has been reached to jointly study variations of the new coronavirus strain circulating in the territory of Uzbekistan, as well as to conduct research on the population immunity of the population of the Republic of Uzbekistan to COVID-19," the report said.


Rospotrebnadzor will also continue cooperation with Uzbekistan to ensure the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population within a single epidemiological space for the benefit of the health of the countries.


"The Uzbek side expressed gratitude to Rospotrebnadzor for its assistance during the most difficult period of the COVID-19 pandemic for the country. At that time, Rospotrebnadzor donated test systems for 140,000 tests for the new coronavirus to Uzbekistan and provided a mobile laboratory for rapid diagnosis and a mobile clinic," the ministry added.
