The head of Rossotrudnichestvo, Yevgeny Primakov, said that the agency would change its name, among other things, because it is difficult to pronounce for foreigners.
"The network of our RCSC (Russian centers of science and culture-ed.), a terrible abbreviation, in principle, like the word "Rossotrudnichestvo", it is very difficult to pronounce any foreigner. The work on, sorry for jibber-jabber, rebranding has also to be done. And, of course, this work will be done," Primakov said during an online conference organized by the Gorchakov Fund.
According to Primakov, if Rossotrudnichestvo wants to be a symbol of good nature, friendship and openness, the agency should be more friendly at least in a name.
"This network of RCSC-s must also be reorganized, because the way these centers work does not satisfy us, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or the decision - making centers," he said.
According to him, it is necessary to fill the work of the RCSC with more practical benefits for people who come into contact with Rossotrudnichestvo. Primakov also said that the RCSC should operate according to the club system, following the example of Russian clubs, which are available to people who want to communicate with Russia always.
"This also has its own organizational difficulties. I repeat, this is a federal executive authority. Sometimes our RCSC-s are located inside the Embassy complex. You can't just go there, because there are security guards, bars and barbed wire, because this is a diplomatic mission. Well, let's start with the places where such a system can be built, and we will discuss this matter and think about where it can be done," the head of Rossotrudnichestvo explained.
