Hassan Rouhani: Russia and Iran should step up cooperation

14 June 2019

Russia and Iran should step up cooperation under the conditions of current pressure and sanctions, as well as in connection with the situation in the Middle East. This was said by  Iranian President Hassan Rouhani at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which was held on the margins of the SCO summit in Bishkek.

“In the present conditions, with serious external influence, external sanctions imposed, the need for interaction between countries in the region, in particular, between our countries, is actualized every day,” noted Rouhani.

The Iranian leader recalled that today Russia and Iran are already cooperating in all sorts of areas, and "it is much easier to say that there are no areas in which we do not interact."
