The certification body "Roskachestvo-Halal", subordinate to Roskachestvo, became the first domestic halal certification body, which passed the accreditation procedure, Head of Roskachevo Maksim Protasov told during KazanForum-2023.
"The certification body "Roskachestvo-Halal", the scope of which includes halal standards, has successfully passed the accreditation procedure in Rosakkreditatsiya (Federal Accreditation Service) and will start certification of the halal market, starting from May this year. I am talking primarily about products for the domestic market and export supplies," he said.
According to Protasov, applications to certify products according to halal standards have already been received by the subordinate body of Roskachestvo from the largest confectionery factories and enterprises of fat and oil industry. About 100 applications for certification of various food products are expected by the end of 2023.
According to him, halal certification is also planned in the sphere of services. It will cover catering services, tourism, hospitality, financial, medical and congress and exhibition services. Certification in these areas will be one of the conditions for increasing the quality of halal products and services in Russia, as well as the trust of domestic and international consumers.
